Description
Haven's Heir is our first campaign for The Hidden Isle, our tabletop RPG set in a magical renaissance that uses tarot cards instead of dice. Defy despots, befriend magical creatures and contend with gods in the grandest adventure of the sixteenth century ever played!
We're also releasing The Dioscorian Library, a set of rules supplements to expand and enhance the base game. It features rules for familiars and combat, two new character classes, more NPCs and factions, deeper GM tips, more beasts, rules errata, and reprints of all one-shots to date!
The Hidden Isle (the game system)
The Hidden Isle is a tabletop roleplaying game which uses Tarot cards instead of dice for skill checks, character creation, story inspiration and more! It's set in the sixteenth century on the island of Dioscoria, a secret city of magicians, adventurers and free thinkers. The game focuses on roleplaying and collaborative storytelling, and its mechanics put character growth front and centre.
It's a game about swashbuckling adventures across Europe and the Middle East, stealing forbidden texts from oppressive regimes, protecting an island of outcasts using ancient magic, and toppling an empire with just the right speech at just the right time.
Haven's Heir (the campaign)
Although the rulebook contains everything necessary to play your own personalised campaigns, we've always wanted to tell a longer story in this world which digs into its contradictions. Haven's Heir explores this world's unresolved tensions, both within the hidden isle and beyond its shores. How will Dioscoria stand by its ideals as pressure mounts?
We're also writing a companion book: The Dioscorian Library. This will contain two new classes with a suite of new abilities, and rules for adorable (or fierce) familiars! It will also feature slight rules changes, additional tips for running combat, more inspiration and help for game masters, and reprints of all previously released scenarios into one lovely tome.
